Cleaning can often be tricky - with lots of different products, tools, and surfaces to clean. Below you can find some cleaning Do's and Don'ts to hopefully assist you when cleaning your living spaces!

 

Do 

• Read labels on cleaning products and follow instructions. 

• Store cleaning products in a cool, dark place. 

• Wash cloths regularly. 

• Use different cloths for different areas. E.g., yellow for bathroom, red for toilet, green for kitchen... 

• Sweep/hoover hard floors regularly and then mop with hot water. 

Don’t 

• Mix chemicals – they could be toxic. 

• Use bleach and bleach-based products if you or others suffer from health problems such as asthma.  

• Leave cloths/sponges in water – make sure you leave them to dry. 

• Cover radiators with wet washing or items. 

• Use too much water when washing  the floor. 

• Hoover wet areas – this could break the hoover! 

• Use the same cloth for different purposes – e.g., don’t use the toilet cloth for the kitchen.
